Whataburger responds to my Merry Christmas blog entry

After posting my blog entry on the Merry Christmas/Happy Holidays controversy, I received an email from Whataburger restaurants.  I think it is important for everyone to see.  Perhaps the author of the original letter was mistaken....or exaggerating to make his point.  Another reason why we shouldn't take email forwards too seriously unless we have PERSONALLY checked the facts.

Dear Ms. Truitt:

Through our monitoring service we ran across your blog about Whataburger.  You mentioned that you recently visited one of our restaurants and were told that we do not decorate for Christmas. As a family owned, Christian company it is important to us that we show our Christmas spirit in a manner consistent with our values.  Because of this, we send a Christmas décor kit to all of our corporate restaurants that includes a window cling with the message “Merry Christmas”.  If you could tell me where the restaurant you visited was located, I would like to contact them to ensure they get their décor kit.  I appreciate you bringing this to our attention and welcome any additional questions you may have.
